The Scoop - July 2011

Ministry work is tiring!
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We have been away for a month learning what it takes to be parents of a newborn. It has been very tiring, but we are so grateful for our precious baby Sarah and we love her so much. The hiatus has also shown us that the Missional Evangelists for Jesus Christ ministry was being neglected and treated more like a hobby than a ministry. Last week, we had a meeting to discuss what was wrong and what needs to change. ME4JC has set some goals for this year that we hope will glorify God and grow the ministry.

Our website was seriously lacking in appearance and content this past year. Elaine and I have been working on a new website design with more content and information this past weekend. We hope to have a more aesthetically pleasing site that will give God glory and also become a tool for witnessing. There will also be many resources and tools for other evangelists that want to share their faith. The new site should be up and running by October.

All blogged out!
As you all know, the blog has been dormant since the birth of our daughter. This post marks the end of the break and the beginning of some new segments that will assist you in your walk with Christ. Wolf Watch will be a bold new blog that seeks to expose false teachers and preachers in the world today. Fish Hooks sounds like a funny name but it’s based off Matthew 4:19 and will provide you with various tips and tools for when you go “fishing for men.” Lastly, we have the Defending the Faith segment which will answer common objections to Christianity.

There are some new ideas that are currently being prayerfully worked on. We are in the planning and research stages of writing our first book. It’s about a very controversial subject in America. Please pray that God would protect us from any opposition from the evil one so that this very important book would see the light of day. There is also a new outreach idea that we’re kicking around. It would be a weekly evangelism event in Downtown Cleveland and we will need other evangelists to commit to helping with this endeavor. Contact me if you’re interested in joining this outreach team.

Finally, we want to say farewell to our sister, JoAnna Hess, who recently moved to North Carolina. We will miss her as part of the ministry, but pray that she will continue in the Lord’s service down south. This concludes our post for the week, so until next time… May God bless you in abundance!
