Grab Bag - June 2011

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Many professing Christians see no need to share their faith. Some excuse it, saying things like I don't want to offend anyone or "push" my religion on other people. I want to tell you that these excuses are nothing more than pride and fear wrapped in a fancy container!

The Bible says, "The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18). If you are sharing the biblical Gospel, people WILL be offended! As far as “pushing” goes, Jesus COMMANDS you to tell others about your faith! “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone” (Mark 16:15).

There are some that say they share their faith through their actions and while good deeds are nice and should be done, you look no different from a Muslim, Mormon, or Atheist doing the same good deeds… unless you speak up verbally or through Gospel tracts! Romans 10:14 says, “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?”
