To God Be The Glory - SummerFest

Nate preaching (Photo by Paul Yanchek)
Glory be to God for great things He did at the Fairview Park SummerFest this past weekend! We were part of a group that spent the whole weekend there doing evangelism and outreach. There were some people making crafts with the kids while others would start conversations with the parents while they waited. The prayer station was set up at our booth for drawing people in to pray for their needs and share the Gospel. Most of the team participated in the parade and handed out tracts to the onlookers.

I worked with Nate for most of the weekend. Nate loves to open-air preach, in fact he probably gave over 30 sermons throughout the weekend. We would walk through the crowd and pass out Gospel Tracts while looking for favorable areas to preach. One such area was at the bleachers of the baseball field. This area seemed to be a hotbed for teenagers to hangout and was my favorite spot because a crowd would gather very quickly once my mouth opened. Nate preferred to preach to people sitting under a pavilion as he always had a “captive” audience there. There were also some great 1-2-1 conversations during the weekend. On Sunday, Elaine and Sarah came out and we gave Sarah her first taste of evangelism by tying a www.needGod.com sign to her stroller and pushing her around.

Please pray for the people that we shared the Gospel with this weekend, especially the teens! The teens were so hungry for the Gospel. Most of them went to a local Catholic School and were somewhat antagonistic, but were shocked when told that going to confession won’t save them from an eternity in Hell. These kids really kept me on my toes because they had many questions, some real and some joking, but God granted me the knowledge to provide Biblical answers.

One of my open-air sessions was recorded and a small segment can be downloaded here. All glory goes to God for the great experiences we had at SummerFest this year while proclaiming His Gospel message to the masses. May God bless you in abundance!
