Do you enjoy your home? Maybe you wish it were bigger, or
even a different style. Perhaps it needs a fresh coat of paint or possibly the
floor creaks a bit. Many people look at these things and think, “Well, I need a
new home.” I wonder how you would feel about that same house if you looked at
it from a different perspective…
Bernad's home |
Does water pour through your ceiling whenever it rains? Are
the walls dirty, moldy, and barely standing because they’re made out of mud? Do
you have to go outside to get to your kitchen or bathroom? Your house probably doesn't look so bad anymore, but for Bernad and his family, these conditions
are real.
A friend of ours has recently begun raising money to build a
house for Bernad, a boy that he’s been sponsoring for many years. He has
verified that this is not some scam and is hoping that you can help him to
reach the goal. Read our friend’s report:
“I have had the
privilege of supporting Bernad, who lives in Uganda
Africa , for close to fifteen years now. God
placed me in Bernad’s life when I was 16, attending a Christian concert I
stumbled across his picture in Compassion International’s tent. He was so small
and frail looking. I've had the privilege of watching him grow into a young man
and have seen God work in his life. Bernad's father passed when he was very
young leaving his mother to support him, brothers and sisters, along with
several nieces and nephews. Sadly his mother passed this past year from cancer.
Now Bernad runs their small farm and is trying to finish school.
Bernad and his younger siblings |
Recently I have contacted
him and his family and they shared a need with me that, with your help, would
like to meet. Bernad’s house is in disrepair. I would love to build him a
house! Now I know what you're thinking, that's will cost a lot! The planning
has been done and an estimate is on the table, builders are standing by. They
need 14,272,500 Uganda
shillings. The great part is that translates to only $5,541 American dollars.”
Would you be willing to help Bernad and his family by
donating towards the construction of a new home? Every bit helps! You can
