The "Scoop"

Here's the "scoop" on the last week with Missional Evangelists for Jesus Christ. Last week was interesting because it went by so quickly and felt like not much was done. As I look back at the week though, I notice that many things took place. I will try to give a recap of the previous week while trying not to bore everyone to death.

We started the week off by finding new owners for our dog, Nazarene. We rescued her from an abusive home about six months ago and were planning to keep her, but we found out that Elaine is allergic to Nazarene. This was weird to find out because we have another dog and Elaine has never had allergies before. Needless to say, Nazarene is now in her forever home with Crystal and Gage. When I met the engaged couple, I had a chance to talk with them about Jesus and their eternal salvation. The discussion went well and I sent them on their way with a new dog and a few "million dollars" in Gospel tracts. Please pray for their salvation, as well as for comfort because they recently lost a friend of theirs.

On Saturday, we spent most of the day relaxing, which is something that RARELY happens! We did eventually get to work on the beginning stages of creating our training courses. ME4JC will provide several different types of classes for churches and groups that want to learn how to share their faith. We do not plan to charge for our courses, but a love offering is appreciated. The courses that are being planned right now are a weekend of evangelism and outreach training and application, an all-day crash-course on how to witness to friends and family members, and a six or eight week class. Anyone that would be interested to have us come and do a class (when they are finalized) should contact us via email. Also, if you have an idea for a course, let us know and we may offer it in the future.

Elaine and I are still in the process of figuring out where we are moving on October 7th. The worst case scenario is that we move into a motel in Hudson. The accommodations are not the greatest, but it is a roof over our heads and we can keep our other dog, Shadow. We have been looking at motor-homes as an alternative, but nobody is willing to do a trade for our car. In fact, one of the biggest problems that we are facing right now is the lack of funds. Both of us are currently unemployed and the job prospects are slim. The Bible tells us, "Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing" (Psalm 34:10). This verse is a humbling thought, yet one that gives me hope. The Lord has blessed us with everything we have and He has allowed us to obtain food stamps so that we do not go hungry. We will continue to trust in the Lord to take care of our other needs too.

That's all for this past week. Please keep us in your prayers this week as we prepare to go where the Lord guides us. I feel like Abram/Abraham when God told him to "go to the land that I will show you" (Genesis 12:1). We have plans for helping with We Care Connection and HeavenTrain again this month, along with some other events peppered throughout. God bless each and every one of you this week and until next week, "Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you" (Psalm 37:5).
