I’ve noticed that when God allows for the mass murder of
children in the Bible, it tends to be followed by a great act of God. For
example, in Exodus 12, we see that God allows the murder of all the first-born
children in Egypt
(except those protected by the blood of the lamb) as a way to get Pharaoh’s
attention and free the Hebrew people. Afterwards, we see the Israelites freed
from Egypt , God guide them
with a pillar of smoke by day and a pillar of fire by night, and He parts the Red Sea so that the Israelites can cross on dry land to
escape Pharaoh’s army. God surely did some amazing things back then to save His
people.

In the Gospel according to Matthew, we read about the birth
of Jesus Christ. His birth was definitely a miracle, but what happened
afterwards (Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection) was an even greater act of
God. So what happened after Jesus was born, but before the acts of God mentioned
above? The murder of many children…
“Behold, an angel of
the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, ‘Rise, take the child and his
mother, and flee to Egypt ,
and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child,
to destroy him.’ And he rose and took the child and his mother by night and
departed to Egypt …
Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became
furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all
that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had
ascertained from the wise men.” (Matthew 2:13-16)
So why am I bringing up the fact that great acts of God are
done after the murder of many children? Because, I believe we are on the verge
of seeing the greatest act of God in history take place!
Just this past week, there was a mass murder of 27 people
(20 were elementary school children) in Connecticut .
On the same day, we saw 22 children were stabbed in China . Actually, there have been an
increasing number of murderous crimes against children in recent years, most occurring in public schools like Columbine and Chardon high schools.

While each event is terribly tragic and our prayers are with
the victims, the death toll doesn’t really add up to an upcoming great act of
God. That is, of course, until you add to that number the slaughter of billions
of unborn children around the globe, due to abortion. In America alone, abortion has taken
the lives of 55,753,786 babies since Roe vs. Wade in 1973… and the number keeps
rising! In fact, records state that the USA is responsible for roughly 4,000
abortions daily! Never before, in the history of mankind, have we
witnessed such a massacre of children.
So, now that I’ve made my case, what do I feel is going to
be the greatest act of God? The return of Jesus Christ to judge the world in
righteousness and rule over all nations! The Bible foretells us, “Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a
white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in
righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and
on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but
himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is
called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen,
white and pure, were following him on white horses. From his mouth comes a
sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a
rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the
Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and
Lord of lords.” (Revelation 19:11-16)
Are you ready for that great and terrible day? What if you
don’t even make it to the return of Christ? If you died today, would you go to
Heaven or Hell? The Bible makes it very clear that anyone who has lied or
stolen or looked with lust has sinned against God by breaking His Law. It says
that all those who break His Commandments are in danger of heading to the lake
of fire and eternal torment (Hell). God’s Word also says that there is only
one way to escape the punishment we all deserve.

Just like in the book of Exodus, we must be protected by the
blood of the Lamb. Jesus Christ is “the
Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29) He was born
of a virgin, was God in the flesh, lived a perfect (sinless) life, and died on
the cross on our behalf. Jesus took the punishment that we deserve and offers
us the gift of eternal life. If we will repent (confess sins to God, turn away
from sin) AND place our trust in Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven by God
and set free from the judgment to come. Please get right with God… before it’s
too late!
(DISCLAIMER: This post is not meant to infer that God MUST have a massacre before He does something. We see many of His great acts each day. Also, this post is NOT trying to pinpoint a date on the Second Coming (return) of Jesus Christ nor are we trying to imply that the mass murder of children is a sign of Christ's return. We are simply stating what could happen in the near future in light of recent events. Thank you for reading and God bless!)
